Ray-Ban first released the Aviator in 1937, so it's no surprise to know that it's the best selling
sunglasses design of all time. We stock two sizes, with the 58mm being more suited to medium to large faces.

RAY-BAN AVIATOR COCKPIT

The Cockpit is a recent addition to the Ray-Ban sunglasses range, and is an updated version of the classic
Aviator. The classic teardrop lens has been modified, resulting in a significantly shallower and slightly wider shape.

RAY-BAN 8301 AVIATOR CARBON FIBRE

The Ray-Ban Carbon Fibre range is new for 2009, and includes the 8301, with the
classic Aviator styling. An incredibly light frame, with flexible, carbon fibre arms.

Ray-Ban Aviator sunglasses are a style of sunglasses that were first developed by Ray-Ban in 1937. They are characterized by dark, often reflective lenses having an area two or three times the area of the eye socket, and metal frames with wire temples which hook behind the ears. The Ray-Ban Aviator was given its name due to their oblique teardrop shape, which matched those of the smoked-lens flying goggles which Ray-Ban was then selling to the Army and Navy. The large lenses of the RayBan Aviator are not straight as in eyeglasses but bulge out slightly. This unique sunglasses design attempts to cover the entire range of the eye and prevent as much light as possible from entering the eye socket from any angle.
